Octopus

I tried Kettle yesterday, and after sitting down with it, and its well done manual (more than 100 pages), I still couldn't get the thing to actually work. It seems it stores the transformations, etc... within a database -- the same database that it actually does the transforms on. However, the scripts for creating the transformation database on Informix (yes, my client is still on that), aren't working. They work great with PostgreSQL -- but we're not yet on PostgreSQL.

So ... today we'll try Octopus.
